The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.

That’s exactly what happens to you when you start your day, do your thing, and then realize “oh, yeah, I forgot to take my meds”. It’s just like when you’re driving down the freeway and suddenly you realize you’re driving on a highway and in a tunnel. You’re confused about where you’re going.

I know this is just an example, but it could be the case that we’re all just stuck in a time loop, watching ourselves do other things that we’ve already done, and we’re just living out the loop. We have to be aware of the loop of our lives to break it, and thus break the loop.

We don’t normally think about time loops, so how do we break the loop of our lives? We have to take our meds, take up a new hobby, or go to the gym. Or maybe we could just play a new game of solitaire.

I’m not saying that we should break the loop of our lives, I’m saying that we should break the loop of our minds. In other words, our minds are like a time loop. Our brains are like a time loop. The only way to break the loop is to remember. If you forget, you’re stuck in a time loop. This is why we have to take our meds, take up a new hobby, or go to the gym.

The key to the loop seems to be the mind. The loop of our minds is like an hourglass, like a timeglass. The mind can take any number of forms. We can find the one that looks best and the one that works best. You can find the one that works best and the one that doesn’t. The mind can pull the loop of our minds together and see what works best.

We can start to see the loops of our minds forming and running throughout our lives. The key is to become aware of each one. To know that we have a loop and that our mind is running it. To realize that we need to take our meds. To take up a new hobby. To go to the gym. If we can take each loop of ourselves and get into the next one, it will be easier to break the loop.

This is why we need to get into a loop, so we can see what’s driving us and how to break it. When we’re stuck in our own loop, we get angry and frustrated and want to try to break out. But it’s that anger that leads us to anger and frustration and that’s what leads to all the other problems.

I’m writing this chapter because I want to share some of the basic ideas and methods we use to break out of the loop. This is not just about just pulling the loop, but the more we break it the more we’re trying to break through it. If we’re going to break out of the loop, then we need to be able to push it through.

We use a lot of the techniques that are usually used in the game development world, but we’ll get to them in a minute.
